Why This Matters
Veterans rated 30% or higher receive additional compensation for dependents. You must report changes (marriage, divorce, children) to the VA. Failure to report can result in overpayments.
Example
You're rated 70% and just got married. You file VA Form 21-686c to add your spouse. Your monthly payment increases by approximately $175 (2026 rates).
