When the VA delays a decision on part of your claim because they need more evidence or development.
Why This Matters
A deferred condition isn't denied - the VA just needs more time or evidence. They may schedule additional exams or request more records before deciding.
Example
Your rating decision shows: PTSD - Granted 70%, Back condition - DEFERRED pending C&P examination, Knee - Denied. The back claim will get a separate decision later.
