A disability that is not expected to improve over time - often not subject to routine re-examinations.
Why This Matters
Conditions like amputations, certain scars, and some chronic diseases are considered static. The VA is less likely to schedule routine exams for static conditions and may rate them as permanent.
Example
Loss of a limb is a static condition - it won't improve. Tinnitus is typically static. These conditions usually don't require routine future examinations.
