DBQ (Disability Benefits Questionnaire)

VA Terminology Definition

Plain English Definition

A standardized form the VA uses to evaluate disabilities. It contains specific questions and measurements that examiners fill out during your C&P exam.

Why This Matters

There's a different DBQ for each type of condition. Understanding the DBQ for your condition helps you know exactly what the examiner is looking for and what information matters most.

Example

The PTSD DBQ asks about nightmare frequency, avoidance behaviors, and how symptoms affect your work and relationships. The knee DBQ measures range of motion in degrees.
