BVA (Board of Veterans' Appeals)
VA Terminology Definition
Plain English Definition
The VA's internal appeals 'court' where Veterans Law Judges review appeals. Board decisions carry more weight than regional office decisions.
Why This Matters
If the Board grants your appeal, it's very rare for it to be reversed. If denied, you can appeal to federal court.
Example
The regional office denied your claim twice, so you appeal to the BVA. A Veterans Law Judge reviews your case and grants service connection.
